The Role
Lead a backend team for a high-traffic mobile gaming platform, staying hands-on (~30% of the role) while owning the design, development and maintenance of backend systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of developers.
- Own the design, development and maintenance of backend systems.
- Stay hands-on for roughly 30% of the role — coding, code reviews and solving technical challenges.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
- Design, implement and maintain high-performance backend services using C#.
- Work with MongoDB, Redis, PostgreSQL or similar technologies to ensure data integrity and optimize performance.
- Develop and manage RESTful APIs, ensuring their security, scalability and efficiency.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of proven experience in a managerial role leading development teams.
- A minimum of 6 years of active experience as a backend developer.
- Strong hands-on experience in backend development.
- The ability to balance people management with hands-on technical work.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with MongoDB, Redis and PostgreSQL.
- Proven experience designing and developing robust RESTful APIs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with Git or other version control systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Advantages
- Extensive experience in C# and the .NET framework.
